January 10, 2012

So many things!! 2012 is the year of endless projects. I can't believe I am saying this, but my calendar is pretty much full until March.

Things that I am investing my time and energy and love into include but are not limited to:

-two awesome group shows at GR2 (PRINTED MATTER 10 and YEAR OF THE DRAGON-thats me!)
-an ALUMNI-STUDENT-FACULTY SHOW at my high school
-a multi-faceted event with music, art, cheap tattoos, and crafty booths called the CULTURE CARNIVAL
-collaborations with artists, chefs, farmers, and mathematicians :3
-LA ZINE FEST!!!
-a trip to the desert and a site-specific temporary burn it all down installation
-PREGNANT MINDS
-a group art show at Abbott's Habit with some of my favorite artists and people
-workshops and bike rides and adventure-times with the SQUIRREL SCOUTS

...and so much more...ALL THAT ON TOP OF A 40 HOUR WORK WEEK, IT NEVER STOPS!

stay tuned for some awesome documentation of ALL THE THINGS!!!

Wow, it's been a long time since an update. My apologies!! Here's what's happening this month.
This Sunday, the 18th, the Squirrel Scouts will be appearing at Royal-T's Holiday Bazaar, from 10am till 3pm! Come check out our booth! We will be selling screen-printed patches, bags, t-shirts, and other wearables, honorary SS badges, and many many more!

Then at the end of the month, I will be participating in this year's FMLY Fest! It will span over two days at two different venues, Catnap in Downtown LA, and Chuco's in Inglewood. Both venues will host a variety of different musical acts and visual stimuli. Click HERE for the facebook event page. Hope to see you all there!

In January, I will be contributing a few prints to GR2's annual Printed Matter show. They need all the love and support they can get, so stop by and look at some art! P.S. it is a "cash and carry" show, so you can buy your prints and take them home with you that night! I'll have more details as the date gets closer.

That's all for now folks! Happy holidays!

June 21, 2010

This weekend, the Los Angeles Midnight Ridazz (myself included) stormed into Portland, Oregon for their yearly bike festival Pedalpalooza. During my stay I learned a few things about the people who reside there. Portlanders love four loco, Portanders wear furry hats, Portlanders wrestle in the mud until they're bleeding, Portlanders get naked and ride tall unicycles, Portlanders live in firehouses and make excellent brownies, but most of all Portlanders are inspiring, friendly and creative. Thanks Portland! We'll be back next year!

One more thing, Giant Robot is doing this really awesome thing called Craft Bar at the Museum of Craft and Folk Art. It will be like a mini GR store and gallery for the running of Clare Rojas' solo show (which is also amazing and worth checking out). The opening of the pop up store and craft bar is on June 3, the first thursday of June! Go, be crafty!
